Our gravel bikes – aluminium frame, carbon fork, disc brakes and 1 × 11 or 2 × 9 gears – are included in the price of our four self-guided gravel tours in Puglia and can be chosen instead of the touring bike, at no extra cost, on all 10 classic self-guided tours. They are equally at home on smooth tarmac and on more demanding gravel tracks. We deliver them to your first accommodation, adjusted to your height.

A bike for tarmac and gravel

If you are a gravel fan, choose our gravel bike for a classic self-guided tour or for one of our gravel itineraries. It is ready for your next cycling adventure, whether on smooth tarmac or on rougher gravel tracks.

Compared with a touring bike, the gravel bike has a carbon fork instead of a suspension fork and a sportier riding position, with disc brakes for safe braking on loose surfaces.

Our gravel tours in Puglia

We offer four self-guided gravel tours: the final stretch of the Via Francigena, the Trajan Way from Trani to Brindisi, the Appian Way from Venosa to Brindisi and the cycle route of the Apulian Aqueduct. The gravel bike is included in the price; instead you can ride an e-bike for a supplement of € 140 to € 180 per bike. Road bikes are not offered on these routes.

What comes with the bike

On our tours the gravel bike comes with a rear pannier on the rack, a lock and a repair kit (spare inner tube, pump and tyre lever); helmet and water bottle are available on request. Your luggage is transferred every day to the next accommodation.

We deliver the bike to your first accommodation, hand it over in person, adjust it to your height and collect it at the end of the tour. Tell us which pedals you prefer, or bring your own.

No. The gravel tours are ridden on gravel bikes or, for a supplement, on e-bikes.

Can I take an e-bike on a gravel tour?

Yes, for a supplement of € 140 to € 180 per bike depending on the tour.

Does the gravel bike come with pedals?

Not as standard: tell us whether you want flat, SPD, SPD-SL or Look pedals, or bring your own.

Can I carry luggage on the gravel bike?

Yes, in the rear pannier on the rack. Your main luggage is transferred every day to the next accommodation.

Which gravel tour is the easiest?

The final stretch of the Via Francigena and the Trajan Way (7 days each) are rated easy to moderate; the Apulian Aqueduct route is moderate and the Appian Way challenging.
