Our services for cycling and walking holidays in Puglia
Apulia Bike Tours, a tour operator based in San Vito dei Normanni (Brindisi), organises self-guided cycling and walking holidays in Puglia and Basilicata and takes care of every practical detail: hotels, luggage transfers, bike rental, navigation app and assistance during the trip. Routes, accommodation and bikes are tested by our team before we offer them. Some services, such as bike rental, luggage transfers and airport transfers, can also be booked on their own.
What is included in a self-guided tour?
Each tour in our catalogue is a complete package: you choose the start date, we book the accommodation and organise the logistics, and you ride or walk at your own pace with everything prepared in advance. Lunches, dinners, tourist taxes and airport transfers are not included; transfers can be added on request.

Hotels and B&Bs chosen for cyclists and walkers
We work with authentic bed & breakfasts, comfortable 3-star hotels, 4-star hotels and 5-star resorts. They are centrally located, within walking distance of restaurants, shops and the main sights, and all serve a rich breakfast – the right start for a day in the saddle or on foot.
Our criteria: a position along the route without long detours, clean and comfortable rooms, a fair balance between quality and price, sustainable practices and, where possible, secure bike storage and facilities for cyclists. Feedback from our guests helps us update the list regularly.
Luggage transfer: carry only what you need for the day
On all our tours a driver collects your bags every morning and takes them to your next accommodation; we give you the luggage labels. On the bike you carry only the essentials in a rear pannier (touring bike and e-bike) or a small saddle bag (road bike).
Have you organised your trip yourself? The luggage transfer can also be booked on its own: send us your stages, dates and accommodation.
Bike rental and navigation app
Touring bikes, e-bikes, road bikes and gravel bikes are delivered to your first accommodation, handed over in person and adjusted to your height, then collected from your last accommodation. You can also rent a bike for a single ride in the Apulian countryside.
Old GPS devices have been replaced by a navigation app on your smartphone. Our team loads your personalised trip with day-by-day tracks, restaurants and sights, hotel vouchers, emergency numbers and our contacts; the maps also work offline, and we provide a phone holder.
Assistance, transfers and local experiences
During the tour you have the mobile number of our local representative. The assistance line is open 7 days a week from 8:30 to 19:00: we help you by phone, explain the way to the nearest bike shop or to your accommodation and, only in exceptional cases, come to you on site. With the repair kit (spare inner tube, pump and tyre lever) you can fix a puncture without waiting for us.
On request we pick you up at the airport, the station or your hotel and drive you, your luggage and your bike to your destination. To complete the trip we can arrange wine and olive oil tastings, dairy visits, pasta cooking classes, boat trips and cultural walking tours.
Frequently asked questions
Is luggage transfer included in your tours?
Yes. On all our self-guided cycling and walking tours your luggage is moved from one accommodation to the next every day, so you only carry what you need for the day.
Is assistance available 24 hours a day?
No. Our assistance line is open 7 days a week from 8:30 to 19:00, and during the tour you have the mobile number of our local representative.
Can I book bike rental or luggage transfer without a tour?
Yes. Both services can be booked on their own: send us dates and places and, for bikes, your height and the type of bike you prefer.
Do you offer airport transfers?
Yes, on request. We pick you up at the airport, station or hotel with your luggage and bike; they are not included in the tour price and we send you a quote first.
Are helmets and water bottles provided?
Yes, on request. To reduce waste we encourage you to bring your own helmet and refillable bottle, but just tell us in advance if you need them.
Can you organise a tailor-made itinerary?
Yes. Tell us the area, dates, preferred bike and interests, and we will build a personalised trip with the same services as our catalogue tours.
